Logos are a key part of any web design and are very important for consumers when first viewing a product or company website. A logo can transform how a consumer views your company and I believe the most effective logos are the most simple.
Good logo design will be descriptive of the business ethos, relevant to the company and memorable to the consumer. To acheive this a logo must be as simple as possible to make sure it is memorable – this is why some of the most successful logos are just plain text.
However, companies often want a more visual logo that includes an illustration or graphic. Again, I prefer to keep these as simple as possible to ensure the graphic is memorable so that it will be easily recognised when viewed. Simplicity really is the most effective technique in logo design.
